Unfooking believable! Would it help to carry a small screwdriver on you at all times or some other kind of 'disguised' non-weapon weapon, and be ready to REALLY use it? I knew someone who did always have a couple of dinky screwdrivers in his front pocket, though I don't know if they were intended to be a weapon. I never asked.
