Oh, ye gods! I already came out as a fervent feminist, but to me it is give all people equal opportunities, and not that does NOT mean lowering former standards. If you're not cut out for the job, don't take it. Ayuh, at my prime I could clean and jerk 97% of my body weight, but I was 107 lbs. at the time. No, I could not be a fire fighter. Carrying an adult down the ladder could not have been accomplished by me. 'Specially now, considering how fat we are; self included. (Well, I'm only about 30 pounds over what I want to be, but still. . .)
