Some things just aren't worth it. Look what happened to Nauru. Used to be a nice place. Had a super high standard of living for a while due to the phosphate deposits, but now it's ruined. For the short term, the people had it pretty good, now they're fooked royally. Not only Nauru. Other cultures destroyed themselves or are in the process of destroying themselves just like Nauru.
Google that now hellish island, and see what life is like there now.
