Attempted murder? NO! It's called ABANDONMENT! Happened all the time, and still does. In fact, in Sparta if your biological accident was fooked up, that's what you were supposed to do. They didn't want any pointless drains on the state.
I wouldn't put her in jail, but I would have her spayed. Maybe 15 minutes community service.
