No, we are NOT free yet. We aren't free unless we are totally self contained with no one having the ability to interfere with our personal convenience or individual sovereignty. The closest we can come to being free on Earth is to be alone with no one knowing or caring about where you are, with the ability to live off of your surroundings. Kinda like John 'Liver Eatin' Johnson. But even then you aren't free. You're a slave to keeping your body alive.
You ain't free until you're 'dead', and even then, there are rules. Though there is no law against going off on your own as long as you don't hurt anything, not that you're inclined to want to if you're at the right level of existence.
