I've had near encounters with wild turkeys. I didn't antagonise them, but they were real close to me in a little visited wild area. They were cool. They didn't attack me. If I do the right walk, I am almost guaranteed to see them. They are awesome, and I'm glad I'm veg these days. Once one came on the property of our flat, and one of the cats that owned me (RIP, Robert.), was just watching her. They just gave each other space. I can't see how anyone can shoot those things, and I hear the domestic turkeys are potentially very affectionate; so. . .
