Actually, they do have some of the best marinated food on the planet. The best pickles I ever had were garlic dills from Hungary, but Turkey comes damn close, and they can be matched but not beat in other things. Actually, they have lots of killer food; much of which I refuse to eat now, considering I'm a veg.
